விதுரன் திருதராஸ்றனிடம் அவரது குலமே பாண்டவர்களின் கைகாளால் அழியும் என்று கூர்கிறார். அபிமன்யுவின் கையில் திரௌபதி ரட்சை ஒன்றை கட்டுகிறார். அது தவறி விழுந்ததை கண்டு அனைவரும் அதிர்ச்சி அடைகிறார்கள். காந்தாரி துரியோதனனிடம் போர் வேண்டாம் என்று கேட்கிறார்.
